Protect the Polar Bears And Our Environment

Polar Bears International is an organization committed to inspiring people to care about the Arctic. They are dedicated to conserving polar bears and the sea ice they live and depend on. The remote region of the Arctic has a direct impact on our global climate.

What They Do

The Polar Bear International hopes to spark curiosity in people about the Arctic and wants everyone to fall in love with polar bears as much as they have. They are involved in protecting moms and cubs by developing new technology to find and map polar bear dens.

They also work to protect both polar bears and people living in the Arctic. The harsh reality is that ice is melting, causing polar bears to spend more time on land. Polar bears living on land means they are away from their food source, and there are higher chances of human to polar bear contact. That’s when the “Detect & Protect” Research was born. Polar Bear International is working to develop “bear-dar” systems used to detect polar bears and alert communities before they come into contact with people. This will help to decrease any attacks or negative encounters.
